Terms of Service Agreements

A coalition of federal agencies (led by GSA's Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies) has drafted model Terms of Service agreements with a broad range of social media providers who offer free services to users. These federal-compatible agreements resolve issues in the standard Terms of Service (TOS) agreements that are problematic to federal agencies. By drafting these model agreements, if a federal agency chooses to use one of these tools, they won't have to start from scratch to negotiate a special TOS for their agency - they can use the models linked below.

If you're at a federal agency, and you want to use one of the tools, you must execute your own TOS with the provider. Work with your agency attorneys and any other key stakeholders to be sure your agency can agree to the legal provisions of each agreement.
